Bose educated at the Film and Television Institute of Tamil Nadu and then received his early training from ace cinematographers Rajiv Menon and Ravi K. Chandran.
He started his career by assisting in movies like Dil Chahta Hai, Koi... Mil Gaya before becoming independent. He worked as the first assistant camera in Lakshya, camera operator in Black and associate cinematographer in Paheli.
His first movie was Main Aisa Hi Hoon (2005) starring Ajay Devgn, Esha Deol and Sushmita Sen.
